Reinforcing the Rocks of the Bottom Hole Area of Wells with Granulated Polyethylene.

A method of reinforcement is described which consists in filling the space behind the filter in the bottom hole area of the well with granulated polyethylene or a mixture of it with sand and heating it to 20-30 degree C above the temperature at which softening of the granulated polyethylene occurs. The proposed method of reinforcement, which does not use cementing agents and binders, is suitable for sand-manifesting wells with a low flow rate and a low formation pressure. Reinforcement by the new method greatly reduces the outflow of sand from the formation and increases the depression on the formation.
