It is shown that single-stage oxidative leaching of zinc concentrates under the conditions outlined in this paper makes it possible to dissolve practically all the zinc in the leaching solution and to concentrate the iron and sulfur (in elementary form) in an insoluble residue within 1. 5 to 2 hours. By treating a copper-zinc concentrate in a leaching-granulation regime, selective extraction of zinc (92-94%) relative to copper and iron is achieved. Large-scale tests of the autoclave treatment of zinc and copper-zinc concentrates confirmed the results obtained earlier under laboratory conditions.
