The results are given of laboratory investigations of the vacuum distillation of coal hydrogenation sludges in batch and semicontinuous processes: the dependence of the degree of distillation of the liquid products on the vacuum in the still, on the temperature of the vapors, and on the amount of solids in the still residue. The degree of distillation of the liquid products for sludges containing about 15% of solids was practically the same for both processes (74-76%), but at a solids content of about 30% it fell to about 55% with no change in the fluidity of the still residue.
