A method of summing certain Bessel-Fourier series with a parameter which occurs in heat conduction problems is presented. It is shown that, depending on the value of the parameter, it is possible to obtain sums of series for zero-order and half-order Bessel functions. The method can also be used to determine sums of series for Bessel functions of other orders.
