摘要：
Some intensive development work in new materials is taking place in the U. S. , Europe and Japan in the field of discontinuous silicon carbide-reinforced aluminum composites. Work is also advancing in the development of SiC composites with magnesium and other matrix metals. Typical mechanical properties are given for composites of matrix alloys 6061, 2124, 7090 and 7091.
