Corrosion resistant physical vapor deposited (PVD) coatings for extending service life of gas turbine parts, as applied by electron beam physical vapor deposition, are described. Their use in aircraft gas turbine engines, marine and industrial gas turbines is shown. Some future PVD coatings for protection against corrosion are mentioned.
