摘要
The microstructure and mechancial properties of rapidly cooled molten cast iron are different from those of specimens of the same composition produced by traditional methods. Increasing the melt temperature results in increased microhardness and martensite content as well as in decreased austenite content. The maximum ultimate tensile strength was characteristic of specimens quenched from 1450 degree C. Heating of the rapidly cooled specimens resulted in the gamma yields alpha transformation.
