Behavior of Sealing Materials in the Gas Industry When Changing Over to Dry Gas Types.

As a result of the changeover from city gas to the long-distance dry gas or natural gas, in many cases there occurs drying out of the seals. In order to counteract uncontrolled gas leakage in this connection, various corrective measures and sealing technologies have been developed and special sealing materials used. This problem is discussed and it is stated that the sealing procedures developed in the GDR are equal to those employed internationally.
