摘要
The waste gas stream from a Claus sulfur recovery plant contains a number of sulfur compounds that cannot be released directly to the atmosphere. The usual method of destroying these compounds is incineration, which requires adding fuel (gas) to the incinerator to sustain a flame and attains temperatures necessary for oxidation of the sulfur compounds. In this article, a three-step procedure for achieving minimal fuel consumption in sulfur plant waste gas inceration is described. A case history illustrating how this approach can optimize incinerator operation and minimize fuel consumption is presented.
