A differential equation is derived to describe dynamics of hydro-abrasive wear of ″fresh″ cross-sectioned surface of hydro-monitoring nozzles used in drilling bit system. The solutions of the equation are analysed. As a result, a criterion is determined for estimating wear resistance of nozzle materials (high chromic iron casts). It is shown that criterion being invariant with respect to the geometrical dimensions of the nozzle depends on wear resistance of nozzle materials only.
