Both in aircraft and automobile construction, the transition from metals to fiber reinforced polymer resins is taking place with increasing regularity. Beginning with the wide selection of possible materials, definite examples of the mechanical properties of construction parts are discussed in this article. Different production possibilities based on fiber winding technology are shown. The application of robots in production is also considered.
