The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC), Alexandria, Va., issued a call for entries for the 2002 National Paperboard Packaging Competition, which recognized creativity and overall excellence in the folding carton industry. Judging took place Jan 8 to 10, 2002 at the Double Tree Hotel, Crystal City. A separate category awards recognition for design innovation in a Structural/Technical Innovation Award was created. Judges considered the design fuctions in the converting process and the fulfillment the user needs of the consumer.
