摘要
In certain cases the removal of heavy metals from industrial waste waters can be combined with an anaerobic wastewater treatment. Hydrogen sulfide (H//2S) produced by sulfate-reducing bacteria acts as a precipitant for the heavy metals. At the same time organic pollution (COD) is removed from the wastewater. In laboratory tests with zinc-containing viscose wastewater redidual zinc concentrations of less than 1 mg per liter were achieved over a period of several months.
