Activizing influence of inorganic acids and alkalis on thermodestruction of gas-bearing coals was studied. 1 M solution of inorganic substance in coal-solution ratio of 1/0.5 was used for the coal treatment. Solutions of alkalis and acids produce activizing influence on thermolysis, yield of liquid and gaseous products. However, pyrolysis of gas-bearing coals is activized by alkalis and acids to a less extent than brown coal pyrolysis under similar conditions. It is caused by the difference in composition and molecular, as well as supermolecular, structure of the coals. Hydrochloric acid and alkalis promote occurrence of condensation processes leading to improvement of the coal sintering ability.
