Pollution control is a major concern of today. This prompted the invention of vacuum degreasers which degrease objects in an alkaline solution or petroleum solvents and then dry them in a vacuum. However, some difficulty are experienced during the washing process. In view of this, a vacuum vapor solvent degreaser which proves as effective at cleaning as steam degreasers using organic solutions was developed. The purpose of this work is to characterize this type of degreases and discuss the benefits that can be achieved when it is employed.
