摘要
To develop a true multimode terminal that provides systems integrators with maximum flexibility at a reasonable cost, a video display terminal (VDT) design must combine standard display technology with advanced IC components in an innovative architecture. Implementation of such an engineering concept requires integrated design and manufacturing techniques in order to control subassembly development. This article describes an engineering approach that integrates design elements normally found in intelligent VDTs with VLSI technology to develop a terminal capable of multiple configurations.
