Flue gas is a multiphase system; its composition is change by the interaction of solid matter (fly ashes) with certain flue gas components, which means that the vapor/liquid equilibrium between gas and solid matter has to be taken into consideration in order to calculate the dew point. The dew point of flue gas defines the temperature at which the condensable components in flue gas form the first fluid condensate. The development of a model for calculating the dew point to make the description of both the vapor/liquid and gas/solid equilibria possible is studied. In order to make the model safer for different fuels and operation conditions, further long-term investigations of fly ash should be carried out.
