Temperature field calculation for stave cooling wall in blast furnace operation

The temperature field of stave cooling wall in blast furnace operation was calculated according to the temperature distribution in the shell, burden layers and stave cooling wall itself. The stave cooling wall has four U-shape tubes on internal side and a snake tube on the shell side. The calculation was carried out for two cases including whether with slag build-up on the outer surface of stave or not. The case being with slag build-up is in favor of cooling and it would not exceed the critical temperature for cast iron. The cooling effect of the upper part of stave on the temperature field was considered as well.
