摘要
<正>To the Editor:We read with great interest the recent article by Balci et al.[1].In the study, the authors mentioned that their mixed reality (MR)technology has already successfully been applied in open and laparoscopic living donor hepatectomy and in complex laparoscopic liver resections. During such operations, the MR models of the liver are pulled out and superimposed onto the actual organ. Surgeons canverifytherelationshipbetweentumorsandcrucialareasin ordertoenhancemarginclearanceandR0resectionandreduce the risk of injuring major blood vessels. By applying MR (including augmented reality) technology, blood vessels and tumor structures in the liver can be displayed during surgery, which permits precise navigation during complex surgical procedures. Also MR was used in surgical education, and most learners believed that 3D models were useful in planning safer surgical paths, reducing intraoperative complications and training of young surgeons [2].
