The damage in the carbon fiber-reinforced aluminum laminates (CARALs) under low-velocity impact was numerically analyzed by using the three-dimensional dynamic finite element software, ABAQUS. Particular attention was paid on the dynamic response of the CARALs to low-velocity impact. And case analyses were conducted and compared with the existent results to verify the correctness of the above method. The impact resistances of the CARALs were discussed from the matrix damage, debonding and energy absorption and compared with those of the tradition aluminum sheets. The results display that the CARALs have better impact resistances.
