摘要
New articulated sponges, including a new taxon Diagoniella pera sp. nov. and a possible Protospongia?, have been collected from the top part of the Cambrian Mantou Formation, near Hebi City, Henan Province. This new vertically ovoid sponge is small in the body size, the skeleton net composed of four orders of diagonally-oriented and quadrangularly arranged stauracine spicules. Marked fringe of oscular prostalia made of by a few strong stauracine spicules. the possible Protospongia? is different from this new taxon by much larger spicules and also some hexactines rays have been observed. Those well preserved articulated sponges are first reported from the Cambrian in North China, and provided new information on their phylesis, evolution and paleoenvironments.
