A novel general report integrated management system based on .Net Remoting client/server architecture for power company was designed and implemented. This system interacts with Excel via component object model and connects to data source via open database connectivity. Particularly, a novel data definition method which classifies data according to parameter, selection dataset and calculation dataset was proposed, as well as a concept of dataset scope and a template designing mode based on data definition and mapping relationship. Then, a platform of calculation results was designed. A flexible strategy of authority management and a management approach of report service stratification and report censorship for power company were also presented. This system can achieve multiple data sources based data-mining, to resolve the problem of customizing reports by unprofessional employees and to accomplish the combination of report production and report management, which assures the quality of data in reports and the security of company data. Characterized by generality, amity, flexibility and safeness, this system has been successfully applied in Hunan Power Company.
