QoS multicast routing algorithm based on particle swarm optimization

QoS multicast is an important research topic in communication sciences. In order to find a better resolution, this paper has adopted Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to solve the QoS multicast router problems. PSO is a new intelligent algorithm which can converges to the optimal solution within a relatively short period of time, being multimode, non-convex, and non-integral. We can then conduct the simulation of the network structure for different number of nodes, and then we compare the algorithms with the genetic and manual colony methods. The result of the simulation show that the PSO is better than both of the genetic and manual colony methods, and the greater the number of the nodes, the more advantages the performance of PSO is.
