Now, power grid enterprises are putting their emphasis on the construction of IoTPG(Internet of Things on Power Grid). In IoTPG, large numbers of sensors are deployed to collect information of management, operation and maintenance. Through the information, the enterprises can manage power grid with an integrated model. The model can promote the level of power grid's intellectualization, reliability and economy. However, the scale of grid is very large, and the information of grid is a large amount. Therefore, the users have heavy workload in using the IoTPG. In this paper, context-aware technology is used to manage the information intelligently. By this way, the IoTPG can provide the uses with services automatically. First, a novel context-aware infrastructure of IoTPG is proposed. Then, a detailed comparison between the new infrastructure and traditional infrastructure of IoTPG is shown. Finally, a novel context-aware based solution for inspection of power transmission and transformation equipments is proposed. The practical application of our context-aware based IoTPG in Guangxi power grid shows that the uses' workloads are decreased effectively and their working enthusiasms are enhanced.
