The British Venture Capital Association (BVCA), a UK private equity firm continues to outperform public equity markets, whether measured by the Total UK Pension Funds Asset, the FTSE 100, or the FTSE All-Share. It sites an average net return of UK private equity funds raised between 1980 and 2005 as 21.1 percent in three years, 11.9 percent in five years and 16.4 percent in ten years. PicoChip, a fabless semiconductor company based in Bristol, UK, have developed the business concept and technology with great efforts. The company has blue-chip customers including Intel, Nortel and Korea Telecom. The company has grown to 35 people in 2001 due to the Pond Venture Partners investment in it.
