Quality service evaluation of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) in WIMAX networks based on IP/MPLS environment

Using a case study the Quality of Service (QoS) perceived by WiMax users when they establish connection through an MPLS Core is analyzed. Voice and video services require particular resource allocation in order to achieve efficient data transfer, namely minimum information losses with adequate bandwidth reservation. In this work, two context scenarios are proposed using the Opnet simulator. In the first scenario, various users connect to the IP core with no QoS criterion whereas the second scenario guarantees availability of adequate network variables. The main conclusion is that an association between label switching and differential services allows improving internetworking performance through efficient processing.
