摘要
Densities, surface tensions and viscosities for binary mixtures of xylene with octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), include D4+ o-xylene, + m-xylene and + p-xylene systems, were measured over the whole composition range at 298.15 K. The surface tensions of the pure liquids and their mixtures are determined by the pendant drop method. The experimental data are used to calculate the surface tension deviations and viscosity deviations, respectively, which are fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation. The result shows that the surface tension deviations and viscosity deviations are negative for all the mixtures investigated. The values of surface tension deviations of equimolar solutions follow the order; o-xylene < m-xylene < p-xylene, whereas, the sequence of viscosity deviations is like that: p-xylene < m-xylene < o-xylene.
