Isolation Enhancement Based on Metasurface for Dual-Band E/H-Plane Coupled Antenna Array

摘要
A dual-band metasurface superstrate consisting of two square ring slots with specific permittivity and permeability products is proposed in this letter for decoupling a compact dual-band E/H-plane coupled antenna array. The dual-band metasurface can achieve high isolation enhancement between elements by suppressing surface waves. To demonstrate the method, E-plane and H-plane coupled antenna arrays loading the dual-band metasurface are designed, fabricated and measured separately. The measurement results indicate that the mutual coupling of the antenna arrays can be decreased by more than 27 dB and 23 dB at 3.5 GHz and 5.2 GHz, respectively, after loading the proposed metasurface.
