Triaxial creep test study on asphalt concrete in the core-wall of earth-rock dam

摘要
As a kind of viscoelastic material, the asphalt concrete will obtain a very large creep deformation under external loadings. Large creep deformation can also be yielded from gravity or external loadings in asphalt concrete core-wall of the earth-rock dam. Based on the triaxial creep test, the creep properties of the asphalt concrete core-wall which was settled in Maopingxi earth-rock dam of the Three Gorges Project were studied. It is indicated from results that the triaxial creep test in this paper can better describe the real creep states of the operating core-wall. On the other hand, the viscoelastic model with Burgers model is used to simulate the creep properties of asphalt concrete, the model curves is very suitable to the test curves.
