摘要
The foaming behavior of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) on polylactic acid (PLA) was studied by supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) autoclave foaming method. First, the gravimetric method was applied to study the effect of weight-average molecular weight of PVAc on the solubility of CO2 in PLA. The results show that when the added amount of PVAc is 1.5%, as the weight-average molecular weight of PVAc increases, the solubility of CO2 in PLA decreases. When the average molecular weight is 1×105, CO2 has the highest solubility in PLA (14%). Then, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), capillary rheometer, and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to study the effect of the addition of PVAc on the thermal properties, rheological properties, and cell structure of PLA foams. The results show that with the addition of PVAc, the solubility of CO2 in the PLA composite material increases significantly during the foaming process, and the foaming ratio first increases and then decreases, the viscosity gradually decreases; when the PVAc addition amount is 1.5%, the foaming performance of the PLA composite material is the best (cell density is 2.56×108 cm-3, and the foaming ratio is 74.4 times). © 2024 Sichuan University.
