A water treatment facility, Clean Water Services Rock Creek Facility located in Hillsboro, Ore., is discussed. The facility includes, two plants in one, split between the east and west sides of the plant, with the capacity to treat 200 mgd of water. Rock Creek's flow comes from househols and light industry, including flow from silicon chips and wafer plants. The east and west sides of the facility share a common influent station, headworks, and primary clarifiers after which the facility splits, with each side operating separately. Treatment processes on the west side include a primary effluent pumping station, two aeration basins, four secondary clarifiers, two tertiary clarifiers, four filters, and two chlorine contact basins. The east side of the plant, includes a primary effluent pumping station, three aeration basins, three secondary clarifiers, two direct filtration channels, four tertiary clarifiers, ten filters, a chlorine contact basin, and a dechlorination channel.
