The annual worldwide turbine engine production is expected to produce 9000 units in the market by 2010. The increase will be driven in part by continuing strong sales of Airbus and Boeing narrow-body aircraft, demand for the new very light jets (VLJ) and strong military helicopter sales. The Airbus A350-900 is expected to enter service with General Electric GEnx engines. The arrival of military and civilian tiltrotor aircraft is expected to have a major impact on turboshaft production if the design is publically accepted.
