摘要
Based on molecular dynamic method, the damping properties and carrying capacities of double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNT) are calculated and analyzed. For the structure and physical model of the DWCNT, the interaction potential and force between the two tubes of the DWCNT are described by using empirical potential function. The analysis method of the rotation damping properties and carrying capacities of the DWCNT is proposed. The quantitative relationships between the DWCNT's damping coefficient and its length, radius and initial angular velocity are obtained. The carrying capacities and the damping properties of the nanotubes with different loads are studied, which lays a foundations for analyse for working stability and researches on the engineering application of DWCNT. © Journal of Mechanical Engineering.
