摘要
Heating or cooling systems are of high demand in many industries. Both types of systems are dependent on the geometry. We characterized the CuO-water nanofluid flow, heat and mass transfer through a horizontal channel when additionally heated through the center. The heat is transferred from the cylinder present along the flow. The velocity slip, thermal and diffusion slip effects on the cylinder are studied. The transverse magnetic field is also applied. The Galerkin finite element method is applied to solve the coupled nonlinear governing equations. The results are presented using stream plots and contour plots. The rate of heat transfer is calculated.30% increase in heat transfer rate is observed when the thermophoresis is doubled. Interestingly heat transfer rate is reduced by 40% when the thermal slip is doubled. So the thermal slip is more useful to include in heating or cooling systems as per the industrial need.
