Combined with the existing studies on the durability of steel-concrete composite beams under environmental corrosion, a deterioration model of durability service life for steel-concrete composite beams under environmental corrosion, which was a function of cross-sectional loss rate of the beams, was proposed. Three criterions for durability service life of the composite beams were given in the proposed deterioration model. The three criterions included the criterion of initial corrosion life of steel beams, the criterion of initial corrosion life of shear connectors, and the criterion of initial failure life of concrete cover for RC flange slabs. A prediction model of durability service life for steel-concrete composite beams was also presented. Taking a steel-concrete composite beam as an example, the durability service life of the composite beam was predicted. ©, 2015, Science Press. All right reserved.
