ABU digital broadcasting Symposium - Gets industry recognition

The ABU Digital broadcasting Symposium 2008 received significant support from the industry and was attended by a large number of participants from the Asia-Pacific region. The industry supported by sponsoring it, sending exhibitors, and speakers, to participate in the event. The event was composed of eleven sessions and started with presenting reports on the improvements that have been introduced in the existing digital broadcasting standards and their implementation around the world. Speakers at the event informed the participants that there are around 830 multicast channels operating throughout the US. These channels are using HD Radio that has performed significantly in challenging broadcasting environments in Europe. The participants were informed that HD Radio-based receivers are proliferating, resulting in lowering the prices of broadcasting in the country.
