Analyzers not ready for prime time

The AutomationXchange event saw 32 end-user organizations participating in a discussion on the state of analyzer market. End users have been deploying measurement devices on basic parameters, such as pressure, level, temperature and flow. Production of analyzer are limited, as suppliers see little demand for them. Rineco Chemical's analyzer are for anaerobic bacteriological systems, including optical measurement or cell density in a highly gassed fermentation process. BMS implemented and validated a NIR moisture analyzer in a fluid bed dryer to measure moisture levels in a final product. The New Sampling/Sensor Initiative (NeSSI) has reduced the analyzer's cost to design and build process analyzer sampling systems with faster assembly, easier installation and reduced testing and commissioning time.
