摘要
The extensive use of mobile phones is creating health risk for the owners as they are severely exposed to the electromagnetic wave radiation emitting from the phone. Cellular mobile communication is wireless communication between mobile phones and fixed base stations. When a person conversing on a mobile phone moves from one cell to another, the controlling network hands over communication to the nearby base stations. If a small amount of nonionizing radiation is absorbed by the human head, it is concentrated on a very small area in the human brain and form hot-spot. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has adopted limits for safe exposure to radio frequency energy, referred to as specific absorption rate (SAR). The mobile phone users must adopt some safety practices such as keeping conversations short, speak as little as possible while in car, and use a plug-in earpiece to lessen the health risk imposed by these phones.
