Ablation test for tailpipe nozzle of solid rocket motor

Based on researching the ablation mechanism of the tailpipe nozzle, a kind of test method was established, meanwhile, a set of test device which can be used in studying on the ablation of the tailpipe nozzle was developed. Then the normal and overload ablation test were carried out, and test data and ablation images were achieved. On the other hand, numerical researches on the ablation of the tailpipe nozzle were done, and numerical results were compared with test results. The results show that test results argee with numerical results to a certain extent, and the numerical simulation method is effective.
