Mixing enhancement of a 2D supersonic mixing layer induced by inflow periodic temperature excitation

Large eddy simulations have been performed for a 2D supersonic mixing layer with enforcing periodic temperature perturbation in the inflow boundary layer. The calculation considers the effect on mixing of various parameters, including amplitude of the perturbation, frequency of the perturbation, convective Mach number, Reynolds number and position where perturbation enforced. The results show that Reynolds number has little influence on mixing effect while others have great influence on mixing enhancement.
