Failure analysis of parietal cracking in scavenging pump made of die casting aluminium alloy

摘要：
Failure analysis of parietal cracking in scavenging pump made of die casting aluminium alloy was carried out by means of metallographic examination, SEM analysis and so on. The results show that the material defects including shrinkage porosity and needle structures resulting from non-normal die casting process or heat treatment are the main facts to cause the brittle fracture in parietal of the scavenging pump made of die casting aluminium alloy. Finally some improvement methods were put forward.
