摘要
For the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system with multiple channels, it is important to develop the multicasting technology for video on demand (VoD) issues. The scheduled multicasting video streams as well as limited program selections however are the tradeoff consideration for realizing large scale VoD system over IPTV. In this paper, we proposed an architecture combining multicasting and unicasting batching channels without scheduled multicasting streams. By using the dynamic adjustment of the batching time during different time zones, we improved the overall service rate of the system. The experimental results showed much superior improvement in service rate especially during the Hot Time zone or popular video selection. We also proposed the virtual community with chatting robots in this paper to reduce the chance of the impatient logout and fulfill the dynamic adjustment of the batching time.
