In complicated process control systems, linearized programmable logic controller (PLC) can make software development and maintenance difficult and can even result in unusable control systems. Here, an object-oriented method is used to design the PLC process control system to make the program design easier, the system design more reliable, and software development and reuse more convenient. The method is used to design a PLC program for a cold rolling cleaning line in the Angang Group Corporation. The program clearly divides the complete control system in the collective design so the control performance is more reliable. The strip quality is then improved to increase the utility and commercial value of the product.
