摘要
The common mode (CM) choke is the corner stone of EMI filter design, and the high frequency characteristics of CM chokes will influence their performance of conducted EMI suppression significantly. In order to estimate the performance of EMI filters more accurately, it is useful to generate a high frequency model for CM chokes. This paper presents a procedure to build a high frequency model for CM chokes from impedance measurement in the frequency range of 150 kHz-30 MHz. As an example, a lumped parameter high frequency model is given, in which CM and differential mode (DM) inductances, parasitic capacitances and equivalent core loss resistances, etc. are described and determined based on measurement. The agreement of simulation and measurement results of insertion loss of a prototype validates the model.
