摘要
The pantograph-catenary arcing phenomena may occur during the off-line process of pantograph-catenary system. During arcing, the temperature of arc column is very high. What's more, thermal conduction from arc plasma to catenary wire and pantograph strip will cause the serious electrical ablation to the material, shorten their lifespan and even cause some serious accident. Due to the limit of the existing experiment testing technology, it is really hard to know directly the exact temperature distribution of arc plasma. Consequently, using the magnetohydrodynamics method, we built the model of pantograph-catenary arcing. By using fluid analysis software, those functions were solved. The temperature distribution of arc plasma, catenary wire, and pantograph strip have been achieved. Based on the temperature distribution of catenary wire under different catenary wire radius, it is found that, with the increase of catenary wire radius, the electric ablation of catenary wire can be reduced to a certain degree. What's more, it is found that, with the increase of thermal conductivity of pantograph strip material, the electric ablation of pantograph strip will be reduced. © 2015, High Voltage Engineering Editorial Department of CEPRI.
