Product configuration that considers customer demands, module assembly complexity, design complexity and cost is based on correct module partition. Customer demands and the correlativity of parts are analyzed to build the fuzzy similarity matrix and fuzzy cluster tree to illuminate the process of module generation in product configuration. The module partition method with three optimization objects (module assembly complexity, design complexity and cost) based on the fuzzy cluster tree intercepted by combined λ is put forward. Use GA to optimize each module λ value to achieve the optimization module partition. The method covers not only the correlativity of parts, but the target of the module partition. The example of astronomical dome module partition shows that the method is feasible and applicable.
