Application of poly-dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride in color ink-jet printing paper

Three different molecular weight synthetic poly-DMDAAC were prepared in laboratory and applied as cationic fixing agents in ink-jet printing paper coating. In this article, the effects of poly-DMDAAC on coating shearing viscosity and zeta potential of coating and on the ink absorbability, ink density and waterproofness of the coated paper were evaluated. The results showed that the poly-DMDAAC could effectively increase the interactions between coating surface and ink particles, thus improve the print quality.
