Conversations around innovation at transportation agencies, particularly at state departments of transportation (DOTs), often focus on internally driven innovation or technology transfer between agencies. Though this article captures just a small portion of the collaborations that have occurred between the public sector, startups, and private sector, it begins to point a way forward to support more open-innovation initiatives.
