摘要
The motor discussed in this paper utilises the attraction force that an electromagnet exerts on a ferromagnetic yoke. Constituting the motor is a spring placed between the electromagnet and the ferromagnetic yoke, which is located on a guiding track. This arrangement travels in a jumping manner. Presented in the paper is an analysis of the motor's performance based on the results obtained from a computer simulation of a dynamic model of the motor. Having measured the parameters of the mechanical system and the winding, calculations were performed considering the actual object. The motor's operation depends on the supply conditions. In this paper, the motor operates as a switched reluctance motor with position feedback while a steady load force is attached to the yoke. The results show that the motor, which has a high force/mass ratio, produces a strong driving force at low speed and reaches 48% efficiency at maximum load. © Institution of Engineers, Australia 2007.
