Based on electric brake test specifications and evaluation system, structure of the computer aided test (CAT) system for vehicle electric brake is designed. A speed variable motor driving friction disc is to simulate vehicle brake drum's rotation at different speeds. The installation mechanisms for electric brake and electromagnet are designed respectively. Pneumatic separation equipment is employed to realize automatic test conveniently. Based on the multifunction data acquisition card (DAQ) and graphical programming language LabVIEW, a scheme of vehicle electric brake virtual system is proposed. A CAT system for the electric brake performance is developed. The testing of electric brake torque, magnetic force and friction is realized. Finally based on the communication interface of LabVIEW and SQL Server, the integration and data sharing of the CAT system and the CAD system are realized. The system is verified. And the two years' operation shows that the electric brake performance testing system based on virtual instrument is qualified for the test. The test result is also qualified for the analysis requirement.
